Culture and Computer Science Conference Berlin - May 2014

Dr Jonathan Roberts (Bangor) delivered the keynote talk at the 12th edition of the "Culture and Computer Science” conference series at the Bode-Museum in Berlin in May. The conference targets cultural policy makers, people from the cultural and creative industries, communication scientists, cultural and artistic actors as well as computer scientists and engineers, who conduct research and development on cultural topics. Jonathan's talk: "Harnessing photogrammetry to create alternative views in Heritage" described the results of  a collaboration between Bangor University’s Schools of Computer Science, History, Welsh History and Archaeology, Aberystwyth University’s School of Computer Science and Gwynedd Archaeological Trust. The  project aims to use archival photographic images to recreate the three-dimensionality of lost heritage assets.
